2026 RMAL Scholarship Application Instructions

In a single Adobe Acrobat document, provide Parts I-IV to the RMAL email address ([email protected]) with the subject being “2026 RMAL Scholarship Package”. Part V should be sent to the RMAL email address by the author of the recommendation. All parts are due to the league office on or before 11:59 pm, July 7th. Within 24 hours, you should receive a confirmation email from the league.

Winners will be evaluated by the demonstrated attributes listed in their package against the following criteria:

• Dedication
• Determination
• Integrity
• Leadership
• Scholarship
• Service
• Sportsmanship

Two recipients will be awarded the scholarship, and each will be announced as a winner of a $500 scholarship at the afternoon session of Swim Champs.

Full packages should include the following:

Part I - Personal Information

• Full name
• Complete mailing address
• Contact telephone number
• Current summer email address
• Parent/guardian’s name
• Name of your RMAL member club
• Your RMAL years of affiliation as a swimmer
• A list of the years that you
  • Participated in at least 75% of the meets in which you were eligible
  • Were eligible to participate in RMAL Championships
  • Participated in RMAL Championships
• The college you will attend in the Fall of 2026

Part II - Activities

List, in order of importance to you, your primary activities outside the classroom. Include organized and individual pursuits, community service, and any jobs you have held during the school year or summer. Must include the following:

• Activity, listing paid or unpaid
• Position title, if applicable
• Grades performed (9, 10, 11, and/or 12)
• Hours per week and weeks/year

Part III - Transcript

Please provide your full high school transcript.

Part IV - Personal Statement/Essay

Please include a personal statement/essay on what your team has meant to you over the years of your participation with your team and RMAL.

Part V - Recommendation Letter

Provide one letter of recommendation from someone associated with RMAL.

• The letter should be emailed to the RMAL email address ([email protected]) before 11:59 pm, July 7th, 2026.
• Please include “2026 RMAL Scholarship Package Recommendation” with the recommended individual’s name in the subject line.
• At the top of the recommendation, please include the name of the author, position, and affiliation to RMAL, as well as the name of the individual being recommended.
